Description

Bleak House is an early 19th-century house constructed of coursed limestone with gritstone dressings. It features a stone slate roof with stone gable end stacks and stands two storeys tall. The northeast elevation has three bays, with a central doorway that has a heavy rusticated surround and a 20th-century part-glazed door. On either side of the doorway are glazing bar sash windows with stone surrounds and 20th-century louvred shutters. The central window on the first floor has a three-centred arch, a stone surround, a projecting keystone, and impost blocks, while it is flanked by plain sash windows, also with stone surrounds.
