Description

Three houses, dated 1848 and designed by E. Blore, forming an L-shaped layout. The houses are constructed of brick and squared coursed lias with ashlar dressings, and have a plain tiled roof. Each house consists of two units. The front elevation has a 3-window range of casement windows with ashlar surrounds and cast iron diamond panes. There are two entrances located between the windows on the front facade, and one to the side, each with a 4-centred head and ribbed doors. The end bay projects forward with gables; the centre window has a false dormer. Rebuilt brick stacks are situated at the ends of the houses. Datestones incorporating the Spencer Arms are present in the flanking gables. The houses were part of a planned development of six houses and a wash house. The interior remains unexamined.
