Description

Waydale Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is built of squared coursed lias and features a two-unit plan with an outshut at the rear. The building stands two storeys tall with an attic, displaying a two-window range on the ground floor and one window on the first floor. The ground floor casements have flat arches and keystones, while the other openings are fitted with wood lintels. The gable ends are adorned with ashlar parapets and kneelers, and there are brick stacks at both ends. The outshut has a catslide roof. There is a datestone on the right gable, which is illegible but is reputed to date from 1781. The entrance, located at the rear, features a 20th-century porch. The interior has not been inspected.
