Description

St John's Church Tower is a church tower built around 1856 by P.C. Hardwick. It is constructed from ironstone, featuring coursed squared rubble with ashlar dressings. The tower is square and has two stages, topped with an ashlar broach spire set on a corbel table. Designed in the Early English style, the church was commissioned by the Spencers of Althorp. Although the main body of the church was demolished in 1949, the remaining tower remains a prominent landmark.
