Description
Nos. 19, 20, and 21 are three houses built in 1848 by E. Blore. They are constructed of brick and squared coursed lias with ashlar dressings and have a plain tiled roof. Each house consists of two units and together they form an L-plan. The buildings are two stories high and feature a three-window range of casements with ashlar surrounds and cast iron diamond panes. There are two entrances between the windows at the front and one entrance to the side, all with 4-centred heads and ribbed doors. The end bay projects forward with gables, and the center window has a false dormer. The houses have rebuilt brick stacks at both ends. A datestone with the Spencer Arms is located in the flanking gables. This group is part of a planned layout that includes six houses and a wash house. The interior has not been inspected.
