Description

FARTHINGSTONE SP65NW 6/66 Heath Farmhouse - II Farmhouse. Mid C18, remodelled early and mid C19. Coursed squared ironstone, limestone dressings, slate roof, brick lateral and end stacks. 2-unit plan with cross wing. 2 storeys with 3-storey cross wing; 4-window range. Tall cross wing to left has giant segmental-headed blank arch, rendered within, framing tripartite sash window to ground floor with 12-pane centre and 4-pane side sashes, stone sills and surrounds, and to first floor a wood mullion and transom window with similar surround, the lintel forming part of a band at base of arch. A 2-light casement with timber lintel in gable above. Window to basement, and quoins. 3-window wing to right has centred part-glazed door and wood mullion and transom windows, all with hood moulds. C20 conservatory porch to right with single-storey C19 extension behind. Interior: fine mid C18 marble chimneypiece with overmantel to large first floor room in cross wing and elements of staircase of same period with barley-sugar twist balusters.
