Description

This is an 18th-century ice house located approximately 40 metres south-southeast of Sulby Lodge in Sulby Covert. The structure is built of brick and is partially earth-covered. A staircase with a retaining wall leads through a round-headed arch into a barrel-vaulted corridor, which then serves a deep, brick-lined ice well with a vaulted brick roof. Elements of the brick superstructure are visible externally.
