Description

This ice house, dating from the early 19th century, is located approximately 250 metres west-north-west of the stables of the former Swillington House. It is constructed of brick and set in an earth mound. The structure features an egg-shaped brick vessel that is partially sunk below ground level, with the upper section covered by an earthen mound. Access to the ice house is provided by a brick-vaulted passage on the north side.
