Description

This gate lodge dates to around 1860 and serves Leventhorpe Hall. It is constructed of sandstone ashlar with a slate roof, and is arranged in an L-shape. The lodge has a gable facing the drive and another facing the road, with a flat-roofed open stone porch in the angle of the L-shape. There is one window to the right of the porch. The gables both contain a single window, and there are also single windows in the rear wing. All windows are 6-pane sashes, with the upper sashes containing 2 panes and the lower containing 4 panes. The windows are surrounded by moulded architraves and feature projecting sills on brackets. The eaves are prominent, projecting from elongated brackets. The roof junctions are marked by a paired chimney, and the rear wing has a separate chimney.
