Description

This is a disused icehouse located approximately 100 metres to the west of Brough Hall. It dates from the late 18th century and is constructed of rubble stone and brick. The icehouse features a circular underground vaulted chamber with an access hole at the top. Above ground, there is a single room with an irregular rounded plan, which has a flat side that connects to a brick barrel-vaulted entrance passage. The remains of a stone slate roof can still be seen.
