Description

The bridge over Brough Beck, located on the road from Brough with St Giles to Tunstall, dates from the late 18th century. It is possibly designed by John Foss of Richmond for Sir John Lawson. The structure is made of sandstone ashlar and coursed rubble. It features a single segmental arch, which is adorned with stepped and alternately raised voussoirs and a tripartite keystone. The parapet is constructed from rubble and has a combination of triangular and segmental coping.
