Description
Stone Cottage is a house dated 1665, with 20th-century alterations. It is built of coursed ironstone rubble and features a slate roof with brick end stacks on stone bases. The house has a 2-unit plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic. The central entrance is a 20th-century door with a timber lintel. On the ground floor, there are three-light casement windows, also with timber lintels. The first floor has three-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion windows that are topped with hood moulds. Notable architectural details include quoins, a chamfered plinth, and stone-coped gables with kneelers. A datestone on the rear of the building is inscribed with "IT/1665". Inside, the cottage features chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer.
