Description

Brampton Hill Farmhouse granary is a mid-19th century structure built by the Spencer family. It is constructed of squared coursed lias and features a slate roof. Originally designed as a single unit, the granary stands two stories tall. A central door on the first floor is accessed by an external flight made of brick and stone. The building has ashlar gable parapets and kneelers, and there are two stable doors located at the rear. The Spencers were prominent agriculturalists in the 19th century, and this granary is an example of a range of commercial farm buildings that remain unaltered.
