Description
Lawn Cottage is a house built in the late 18th century, with a date of 1779 inscribed on a datestone. The ground storey may date back to the late 17th century. The exterior features coursed ironstone rubble on the ground floor and brick in Flemish bond on the first storey. It has a slate roof with two brick stacks, one at the ridge and one at the end. The house has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys tall. The ground and first storey have 19th-century wood casement windows beneath renewed wood lintels. The central left door is a 19th-century wooden door with four panels, topped by a wood lintel. A brick dentil cornice is present, and the right gable is coped with a kneeler. Inside, there are stop-chamfered beams and a fireplace dated 1685.
