Description
This is a house located at 71 High Street in Long Buckby, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed from ironstone ashlar with 20th-century tile roofs and features brick ridge and end stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan and consists of two storeys and an attic. The left range has two windows and is positioned at right angles to a slightly lower three-window range.
At the left end of the three-window range, there is a part-glazed four-panel door set within a glazed lean-to conservatory porch. The left range features 12-pane sash windows with moulded stone sills, surrounds, and lintels that include keyblocks. A datestone inscribed 'TG/E 1730' is located between the upper windows, and the front angle has chamfered quoins. The gable is coped with stone and has kneelers. The lower range contains two- and three-light casements with timber lintels. The gable end of the wing has a two-light stone-mullioned attic window with a hood mould, and a datestone inscribed 'IA/W 1704'. Inside, the house has stop-chamfered beams.
