Description

This is a house, likely dating to around 1838. It is constructed from squared coursed limestone with a blue slate roof. The building is of double depth and has a three-window front. The central entrance features a six-panel door with a rectangular fanlight incorporating intersecting glazing bars and a moulded wooden surround topped with a small pediment. Sash windows with glazing bars are set beneath stone lintels, each with keyblocks and ashlar dressings. The first-floor windows are of reduced height. The roof is hipped, with stone stacks positioned along the ridge. A two-window range is visible on the left-hand side elevation, including a single horizontal sliding sash window on the ground floor. The interior was not inspected but is reported to contain early 19th century fittings. The house was advertised in the Stamford Mercury around 1838 as a newly built property.
