Description
This monument and attached lamp post, located approximately 15 meters east of Number 2 Hall Yard, was constructed around 1902. It is made of squared coursed limestone and limestone ashlar, featuring a wrought iron lamp post. The rectangular base consists of squared coursed limestone with ashlar dressings and two chamfered plinths. The upper stage, also made of ashlar, has chamfered corners and a cornice with castellations. The lamp post, which is attached to the upper stage, has wrought scroll supports and a swan-necked lamp bracket. A plaque with raised lettering in the center of the upper stage commemorates the "Coronation of Edward VII August 9, 1902," flanked by bands of thistles, roses, and shamrocks. The lamp has been converted from gas to electricity. This structure is included for its group value.
