Description

Sunnyside is a house located on Main Street in Yarwell, dating from the 17th century and altered in the 20th century. It is built from regular coursed and squared coursed limestone with a Collyweston slate roof. The house originally had a two-unit plan with a central stack and is two storeys high.

The first floor features a two-window range, while the ground floor has a three-window range consisting of 19th and 20th century casements. The central window on the ground floor was originally a door and has a concrete lintel, as do the first floor windows. The flanking ground floor windows have 17th century moulded stone surrounds with hood moulds. The gable parapets and kneelers are made of ashlar, as is the stack at the ridge.

The left bay is constructed from squared coursed limestone with three ashlar bands, while the other bay is regular coursed. The right gable has a 20th century door and windows beneath concrete lintels, along with bands of projecting stonework in the gable, likely used as pigeon holes. There is a single-storey extension at the rear.

Inside, the living room on the left features an open fireplace with a bressumer and a roll moulded spine beam. A former cross-passage runs behind the central stack.
