Description
The Farriers is a house located on Main Street in Yarwell, dating from the 17th century and early 19th century. It is built from squared coursed limestone with ashlar dressings and features a Collyweston slate roof. Originally designed with a two-unit plan, it has been modified to an L-shape. The building is single storey with an attic and two storeys.
The main façade presents a three-window range of casement windows set under wooden lintels. There are three eaves dormers, all with casement windows; the left dormer has a wooden gablet, while the others have hipped roofs. A blocked door is located to the right of the centre. The house features ashlar quoins and ashlar dressings around some window openings, along with brick and stone stacks at the ridge and ends.
At the rear, there is an early 19th-century two-storey section with a two-window range, also featuring casement windows and a 20th-century glazed porch with a hipped roof. The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted to contain an open fireplace with a bressumer.
