Description
Corner Cottage is a house dating from the 17th and 19th centuries, located on the north side of Main Street in Yarwell. The building is constructed of regularly coursed limestone and features a concrete tile roof. It originally had a three-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic. The front has an irregular arrangement of three windows, which are 19th-century casements set under wooden lintels. There are four 20th-century flat-roofed eaves dormers, each with casement windows. To the right of the center is a 18th-century part-glazed door, while a 20th-century door is located at the far left, both also under wooden lintels. There is a blocked fire window with ashlar jambs on the far left side. The building has brick and stone stacks, which are now rendered, located at the ridge and ends. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer. The cottage was used as two separate dwellings at one time. It is included in the register for its group value.
