Description

The Well House and attached basin, located approximately 100 meters southwest of Fermyn Woods Hall, was built around 1828 for the Ladies Fitzpatrick. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features an octagonal plan in the Perpendicular style. The sides are panelled with cusping and shields, topped with an ogee crocketed domed head, a castellated cornice, and fishscale decoration on the panels. Gargoyles are positioned at the corners, and there is a lion head spout on the front along with an iron pump handle at the rear. The side panels display the initials of the Ladies Fitzpatrick. Attached to the front is a rectangular stone basin that matches the style of the well house.
