Description
1 and 2 Main Street are two houses that have been combined into one dwelling. They were built in the early 19th century for the Brudenell family of Deene Hall and have been modified in the 20th century. The houses are constructed of squared coursed limestone and feature a Collyweston slate roof. Originally, each house likely had a one-unit plan with a scullery. The building stands two storeys high and has a four-window range, with 19th-century style casements set under shallow stone arches. There is a part-glazed door on the far right, also under a shallow stone arch, while the corresponding doorway on the far left has been converted into a window. The roof is hipped, and there is a central stone chimney stack. The interior has not been inspected.
