Description
21 Main Street is a Grade II listed building that consists of two houses now combined into one dwelling. It was built in the early 19th century for the Brudenell family of Deene Hall. The structure is made of squared coursed limestone and features a Collyweston slate roof. Originally, each house had a one-unit plan with a scullery. The building is two storeys high and has a four-window range with 19th-century style casements set under shallow stone arches. There is a 19th-century plank door located on the far left, which is also set under a similar stone arch. The corresponding door on the far right has been converted into a window. The roof is hipped with overhanging eaves and a central stone chimney stack. A large plaque displaying the Brudenell arms is located at the center of the range. The interior has not been inspected.
