Description

Cherry Tree Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid 18th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and features a thatch roof. The original layout was a two-unit plan. The cottage is a single storey with an attic and has a two-window range of 19th-century style casements beneath wooden lintels. There are similar casements under eyebrow dormers in the attic. The central entrance is a 19th-century plank door, also situated beneath a wooden lintel. Stone stacks are located at both ends of the building. Although the interior was not inspected, it likely contains remnants of an open fireplace. The cottage is marked on an estate map from 1747.
