Description
Nos. 13 and 15 on Main Street are two dwellings that were originally three houses, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century and associated with the Brudenell family of Deene Hall. The buildings are constructed of orange brick and feature Collyweston slate roofs. Each dwelling originally had a two-unit layout and is single storey with attics. Together, they form a six-window range with 19th century style casement windows set under shallow brick arches. The attics also have similar casement windows beneath six hipped eaves dormers. There is a 19th century plank door to the left, positioned between two windows, and a 20th century part-glazed door to the right, also between windows, both topped with shallow brick arch-heads. The central door has been converted into a window. The buildings have rebuilt brick stacks at the ridge and ends. The interiors have not been inspected. These buildings do not appear on an estate map from 1747 but are included on a map from 1847.
