Description
This is a house on High Street, Stanion, with origins dating back to the medieval period, but largely rebuilt in the 18th century and restored in the 20th century. The exterior is limestone, regularly coursed, with a concrete tile roof. It was likely originally part of a larger 3- or 4-unit house. The front has two storeys and a two-window front, featuring 20th-century casement windows with concrete lintels. A 14th or 15th-century moulded stone arch-head doorway is now a window, and a chamfered plinth is also visible. Local tradition suggests it may have been a religious building at one time. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included on the heritage register for its group value within the surrounding historic area.
