Description
The Lord Nelson Public House is a public house dating from the mid-18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and features a slate roof. The building originally had a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic. The front has a two-window range of 20th-century casements set in original openings, which have gauged stone heads and plain stone lintels. There is a central door that has been converted into a window, also with a similar stone head. The gable parapets are made of ashlar, and there are brick and stone stacks at both ends. There are early 19th-century and 20th-century extensions at the rear. Inside, there is an open fireplace with a bressumer. The building is included for its group value.
