Description

Two houses, numbers 25 and 27, stand on the east side of High Street in Islip. They were built in the early to mid-18th century and altered in the 19th century. The houses are constructed of regular coursed limestone and have thatched roofs. Each house has a single-room plan, together forming a 4-window façade. The windows are casements with glazing bars, and at the first floor, they are all beneath eyebrow dormers. The ground-floor windows have flat brick arches, with those of number 25 being rendered. Plank doors are located at the far left and right, both under similar brick arches. A central brick stack is present. Interior inspection was not possible, but the presence of chamfered spine beams with run-out stops has been noted.
