Description

This is a late 16th and early 17th century timber-framed house, consisting of two ranges that form an L-shape. The house was subdivided into tenements and has 18th-century additions in the form of a lean-to. The earlier north range comprises two bays, with a doorway situated in front of a large 17th-century chimney stack. The south range is early 17th century and a one-and-a-half storeys high, featuring a prominent stack at the west end. Some of the original timber framing remains, with brick infill between the timbers. The windows are mostly modern casement windows. There are brick outshots on the property. The original brick stacks are present, and all the brickwork has been colourwashed. The roofs are tiled, with the south range featuring a west-gabled upper window and a dormer to the east. A colourwashed brick cottage, built in the 18th century, fronts the road. This one-bay, two-storey cottage has an old tile roof, dentil eaves, and a rear outshot.
