Description

This is a 17th-century timber-framed former farmhouse, originally of three bays and two storeys. It has a modern false jetty to the street front. The timber framing is exposed on the east gable wall and to the rear, with colourwashed brick infill between the timbers. The roof is covered with old tiles. In the 18th century, the building was divided into three tenements, at which time end stacks were added. The windows are casements, and the jetty is clad with tile hanging. There is a shopfront to part of the ground floor, along with modern doors. The ground floor and west gable are roughcast. The building is recorded in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments, Volume 1, page 84, as Monument 16.
