Description

Nos. 9-11 on The Walk are a pair of houses dating from the 17th century, with a one-bay extension added to the east in the 19th century. The original house is timber framed and now covered with whitewashed render. It features an old tiled roof that is half-hipped towards the street, with brick chimneys located to the right and between the left-hand bays. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a lobby entry that includes a gabled turret over the staircase at the rear of the left-hand stack.

On the ground floor, there are wooden casements, with two lights in the left-hand bays and three lights in the right. The first floor of the right-hand bays has barred horizontal sliding sashes, and there is a small window above the door. The street gable has 20th-century wooden casements, with a four-light window on the ground floor and a three-light window on the first floor and attic. A six-panel half-glazed door is set in a trellis porch between the left-hand bays. The extension to the right is made of whitewashed brick with a slate roof and dentilled eaves, featuring paired barred casements and a door to the right.
