Description

The house, comprising Mapletree Farm East and Mapletree Farm West, dates to the 17th century and has undergone alterations, extensions, and subdivision. The main structure is timber-framed and has been refronted in brick, with a flint and brick east wing. The roof is tiled, featuring an old chimney stack centrally located. The building is two storeys high and incorporates modern leaded windows with segmental arches on the ground floor. A central 20th-century two-storey porch with a hipped roof is present, including two windows to the left, with first-floor windows set under gables, and three windows to the right-hand side. The west gable exhibits exposed timber framing and a projecting chimney stack. A large 20th-century wing extends from the rear. Internally, the house includes two large inglenook fireplaces and exposed beams.
