Description
Cogdells Farmhouse is a small house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made since. The structure is timber-framed and cement-rendered, with the left-hand bay constructed of flint and brick, likely added in the early 19th century. It has an old tile roof and a central chimney, following a lobby entry plan. The farmhouse is one storey high with an attic, and features a modern open porch and a projecting chimney to the right. A small window is present, and exposed timbers are visible at the right-hand end, along with a projecting chimney stack to the left-hand gable. The rear elevation includes three casement windows on the ground floor, with dormers above. Inside, a large inglenook fireplace and chamfered spine beams with run-out stops are notable features. An 18th-century barn is attached to the rear, constructed with a timber frame and weatherboard cladding, topped with a tiled roof.
