Description
Moynes Farmhouse is a house dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, with alterations and a new facade applied in the early 20th century. The house has a timber frame which is now encased in 20th-century red brick and decorated plaster. The roof is red plain tiles, and a red brick chimney stack is positioned off-centre. The building features two gables. It is two storeys high with a four-window front featuring vari-light mullioned windows added in the 20th century. A hipped porch with a vertically boarded door is present. A later lean-to extension has been added to the left.
Inside, original features remain including jowled storey posts, sidegirts, top plates, and stop-chamfered bridging joists. Wall studs are visible from the roof, and the roof is supported by a pegged side purlin. A restored inglenook fireplace is present. One bedroom contains a cast iron hob grate from the 18th or 19th century, set back from a 16th or 17th-century chamfered red brick arched fireplace, alongside a staircase adjacent to the chimney.
