Description

MEDMENHAM HENLEY ROAD SU 88 SW (north side) 8/128 Quarry Cottage and The Old School - GV II Cottage and former school, the school now part of village hall. Cottage is late C18, of flint and chalk with brick dressings and tiled roof. Small brick chimney to right. 2 storeys, 2 bays. Paired C20 metal casements, top-hung to first floor, that to ground floor left in blocked doorway with arched head. C20 door to left. School is 1830, of brick with later central buttress and tiled roof. One storey, 2 bays. 3-light leaded windows with segmental heads. Entrance via village hall of 1936 which projects to right. Built in chalk quarry. Included for group value.
