Description
Little Wardrobes is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century, which incorporates a 17th-century chimney and has 19th-century extensions at the rear. The building is constructed of brown brick with red brick quoins and window surrounds. It features a first-floor band course and offset eaves with alternating courses of red and blue headers. The roof is covered with old tiles, and there is a large external brick chimney on the left side. The house is in an L-plan with 19th-century infill, standing two storeys tall with an attic and comprising three bays.
The southeast front has wooden casements with single horizontal glazing bars, featuring a three-light window flanking a two-light window on the ground floor, both with cambered heads. There is a 20th-century single light window to the left of the door. The front also has two gabled dormers with paired leaded casements. The central entrance has a flush-panelled door set within a 20th-century wooden porch that has a flat wooden hood supported by twisted wooden columns with Corinthian capitals.
At the rear, the structure is partially brick and partially constructed of 19th-century flint and brick, with irregular windows and a central arched entry. Inside, the ground floor right room features a moulded stone fireplace with a four-centred arch and moulded stops, which may not be original.
