Description
The Old White Lion is a former public house located on Bell Street in Princes Risborough. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and is constructed of red brick with flat eaves and a slate roof. The building has two storeys and two bays, featuring 5-pane sash windows with finely gauged heads. The central entrance consists of a 4-panelled door topped by a blind rectangular fanlight, all sheltered by a flat wooden hood supported by shaped brackets.
To the right, there is a lower block from the early 19th century, which is colourwashed roughcast with an old tiled roof. This section also has two storeys and one bay, with a 5-pane sash window with a cambered head on the ground floor and a 3-light barred wooden casement window to the left of a half-glazed door set in a 20th-century architrave frame. All windows and doors were renewed around 1980.
