Description

Fir Farmhouse is a house from the 17th century, mostly covered in 18th-century brick. The back of the house features exposed timber framing on the entire first floor, with rendered infill on the ground floor. The front elevation is made of brick, topped with an old tiled roof that has a stack to the left of the center, opposite the door, featuring three diagonal shafts, partly made of 17th-century thin bricks. The house has two storeys and an attic, with three bays of three-light casements. The ground floor has segmental arches, and there is a door to the left of the central bay, which is sheltered by a modern gabled brick porch. To the left end, there is a lean-to addition. The gables are rendered and painted. Inside, the house retains exposed timber framing, and the initials "RA 1677" are scratched on a beam above the inglenook fireplace in the central room.
