Description
No 115 on Walton Road is a house dating from the 17th century, with later alterations. It features a timber frame with brick infill, and the west wall is clad in early to mid-18th century brick, including some 17th century bricks. The south gable and part of the east wall are rendered over brick. The house has a gabled roof covered with old tiles and lateral brick stacks on each side. It has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high. The south gable has 20th-century two-light casements on both floors, and there is a 20th-century half-glazed door leading to a single-storey lean-to on the east side, which may date back to the 17th century. The rear gable also features 20th-century two-light casements, with glazing bars on the ground floor.
Inside, the house has exposed timber framing set in square panels on both floors, with 17th-century beams and a central timber-framed partition. The two-bay roof includes diagonal bracing, jointed storey posts, windbraces, clasped purlins, and a central queen-post truss.
