Description
23 Walton Road is an early 18th-century building that stands two storeys high with an attic. It is constructed from vitreous brick with red dressings. The building features a projecting plinth with a moulded top, a moulded string course at the first-floor level, and a moulded brick eaves cornice. The roof, covered with old tiles, has been renewed on the left-hand side. There are three gabled dormer windows and five windows on the first floor, along with two narrow windows flanking the doorway, all of which have glazing bars. The central entrance is a tall, six-panelled flush door with a moulded architrave. The doorcase is adorned with fluted Doric pilasters set against a plain surround, topped with an entablature that features narrow triglyphs in the frieze above the pilasters and a bed mould of cornice that is broken around. The two steps leading to the door have been altered.
