Description

Nos 18A and 18B, formerly known as the Smithy and small cottage adjoining, are 17th-century buildings located on the south-east side of High Street in Long Crendon. They are one storey structures featuring rubble stone and timber-frame construction, with thatched roofs. Number 18A has a half hipped end and a three-light casement window on its north wall, along with modern garage doors. Number 18B, situated at the corner of Jesse's Lane, also dates from the 17th century and includes an attic. It is built of rubble stone with a brick gable and has a thatched roof. The entrance features a door and a two-light casement window beneath an oak lintel, along with a small upper window in the thatch. There is a small addition to the east gable, which has a hipped tiled roof and an upper window above. The buildings are attached to a rubble stone boundary wall with a curved opening between them.
