Description
No 2, The Square is a building that dates from the medieval period, with elements from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is two storeys high and constructed of rubble stone with a thatched roof. The ground floor features two ledged doors and three 3-light casement windows, while the upper floor has three 3-light casements, with the centre window extending into the thatch. The right-hand gable is cemented above. There is a one-storey lean-to shed with a visible cruck frame above. The rear wall is rendered, likely covering timber-framing, and there is a small rear wing made of stone and witchert. Inside, the building has three cruck trusses that rise to the apex, with yokes supporting the ridge purlin, and a large stack is located at the west end.
