Description
The building is a barn located immediately to the south of Hill Cottage in Chalfont St Giles. It dates from the 17th century but has been altered and now appears to be from the 18th or 19th century and later. The barn is constructed of brick and features an old tile roof with dentilled eaves. It has three round arched openings, one of which serves as a door, while the other two are at different heights. The structure is timber-framed and has a single purlin roof supported by curved queen-posts, lacking a ridge or collar. The gables are boarded. To the left of the barn, there is a lower addition from the 18th century, which has a brick plinth and boarded upper parts, topped with an old tile roof. This addition features a central door flanked by a window on either side. The barn also includes a modern garage door in the center of its east elevation.
