Description
A barn dating from the early 18th century is located on the north side of Welders Lane, Chalfont St Giles. The barn is timber framed and has timber cladding, with a steeply pitched plain tiled roof. Two hipped roofed midstreys are present on the west side. It is an aisleless barn; the roof has been extended to cover a 20th-century store between the midstreys. Much of the original timber framing remains, though the rafters on the east slope of the northern bay were replaced in the 20th century. Three segmental-headed, three-light dormers are on the west side, and two are on the east side. The barn has a queen post roof, with the ridge now planked.
