Description

Austen's Farmhouse is a 16th-century timber-framed building located on the east side of Twitchell's Lane in Chalfont St Giles. The ground floor features brick infill, while the first floor has plastered infill. The farmhouse has an old tiled roof and a crosswing to the west. It stands two storeys high and includes curved struts to the first floor, with a centre oversailing on a coved cornice. The windows are mostly modern casement types, and there is one original chimney stack alongside a modern one. At the rear, there is a modern two-storey range that runs at right angles to the main building.
