Description

Lower Common Farmhouse is a 16th to 17th century timber-framed and plastered building located in Chelsworth. It features a cross wing at the north end and a modern gabled wing at the south end. The farmhouse has one storey and attics. The windows are a mix of partly double-hung sashes with glazing bars and casements. The roof is tiled and includes two gabled dormers on the front, along with a central square chimney stack. Inside, there is a top plate that has a face halved and bladed scarf joint. The building has been renovated.
