Description
Bowstridge Farmhouse is a 16th-century timber-framed house located on Bowstridge Lane in Chalfont St Giles. The building consists of three bays and features a crosswing to the south. It stands two storeys high, with the left-hand bay being gabled and jettied, showcasing exposed timber-framing and brick infill. The main range and the area below the jetty are cased in 18th and 19th-century brick. The roof is covered with concrete tiles. The farmhouse has casement windows, mostly featuring segmental arched heads. A 17th-century stack with oversailing courses is positioned to the right of the gabled bay, and there is a through passage behind the stack. The entrance includes a 6-panel door from the 18th century. A band course is present on the north front, and there are lean-to extensions at the south end.
