Description

The tomb of Joseph Francklin is a chest tomb located 10 metres north-east of the Lady Chapel at St. Mary's Parish Church in Haddenham. It dates from 1815 and is made of dressed limestone with marble panels. The tomb has a rectangular block set on a plinth of two steps, featuring inset corner pilasters and oval marble inscription plaques on all four sides. It is topped with a cornice that has a pyramidal shape, adorned with grooved enrichment and surmounted by an urn from which flames issue. The north plaque is inscribed in memory of Joseph Francklin.
