Description
Anchor Barn is a cottage that was formerly a barn, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is constructed of colourwashed and roughcast witchert on a colourwashed rubble plinth, topped with a thatched half-hipped roof. The building has one storey and an attic, featuring irregular leaded casements and a door on the west elevation. The gable end facing Church End Green includes 2-light casements and a brick infilled timber framed half-gable. The cottage consists of 2 bays with a central stack, while the barn adds another 2 bays and remains open to the roof, showcasing pointed arched gable windows above the ground floor window. There are 3 dormers, with a long dormer facing the churchyard that has 3 windows, 2 of which are below. The barn's interior features tie beam braces and queen strut trusses.
