Description

The Anchor is a house, originally a 17th- and 18th-century inn. It is constructed of wattle and daub, with a colourwashed and roughcast finish, and has a stone plinth. The roof is of old tiles. The building has three irregular bays and two storeys. The right-hand bays feature rusticated quoins. A six-panel door is set under a pediment hood supported by brackets, situated between the left-hand bays. A 2-light leaded casement window is present in the left bay, with two 2-light 1st-floor windows above. The right-hand bays feature 3-light leaded casements, including a 2-light window on the ground floor of the right-hand bay, alongside garage doors and blank window panels at the outer ends. Chimneys are positioned at the left gable and between the right-hand bays. A rendered gable and a 2-storey rear addition are also visible.
